Is That K-pop Comeback Announcement Official? A Fan’s Source Checklist
Before sharing a K-pop comeback date, find the original artist or label announcement and read the entire notice. A screenshot, search snippet or fan calendar can point you toward a story, but it may omit the year, local time, release type or a later correction.
Start with a source trail
- Find the artist’s official website or agency profile.
- Follow its links to the relevant notice page, channel or community.
- Open the original announcement instead of relying on a cropped image.
- Check the publication date and any update notice.
- Keep the original link when adding the event to your calendar.
Ask what is actually being released
A concept film, teaser, music video, album and concert livestream are different releases. A date attached to one does not automatically apply to the others. For example, an artist’s discography page may list promotional films alongside the Official MV. Read the item label before describing it as the full song.
| Field | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Artist | Does the official account belong to the artist named in the headline? |
| Release | Is this a teaser, full recording, video or event? |
| Date | Which year and time zone does the original specify? |
| Availability | Is there a direct official destination or only an announcement? |
| Update | Has the publisher posted a correction or replacement schedule? |
Do not turn a source gap into a rumour
If the official source does not name a performer, state a date or explain a change, leave that detail unconfirmed. A missing promotional image or a silent social account is not proof of a departure, delay or private dispute. Report what the original source establishes and separate your interpretation from it.
Two official starting points
ILLIT’s BELIFT LAB discography groups releases and links to the artist’s official channels. BTS’s Weverse notice page is a starting point for original notices. These are examples of source navigation, not a claim that either artist has made a new announcement today.
Keep original virtual projects clearly identified
For KVIBE releases, start from the official KVIBE IDOLS channel or its song directory. KVIBE is a virtual original project. Its characters and creative stories should not be reported as real-world celebrity biography or as news about another label’s artists.
Source pages checked October 29, 2026: the official artist and channel pages linked above. This is an editorial verification checklist, not a fresh comeback announcement or a ranking of artists by popularity.
